Mobile app of 4Plus local television which constantly broadcasts the latest news and events. User can browse news articles and videos across different categories. The app will enable the user to view news details, images and videos. Users can also save any news article/video for future use.
We tend to build news apps when we have a dataset (or think we can get a dataset) that is national in scope but granular enough to expose meaningful details.
Functionality
The goal of this project is to develop an application which will display verified and approved news articles and videos on the backend. The application will have three types of users in the backend, one will be an admin manager with full access to the backend features, including user and content management. While the other two users will be reporters and editors will have limited access to backend features.
Journalists will create news articles and videos, while editors will be responsible for approving and publishing articles and videos added by journalists. Both users will be added to the system by the administrator.
Results
By showing each reader data that is specific to them, this news app can help each reader understand a story in a way that is personally meaningful to them. It can help a reader understand their own personal connection to a broad national phenomenon and help them connect what they know with what they don’t, and thus encourage a deep understanding of abstract concepts.
